To be conscious that we are perceiving or thinking is to be conscious of our own existence.

It’s the official start of summer…beach season that is and my first in the East Coast.  It’s so refreshing, and it’s not the fact that the water at Singing Beach in Manchester, MA is freak’n cold, it’s the fact that women are so freak’n comfortable in their bodies.  Coming from California where no women dares step foot onto the beach if they don’t have a 38 bra size and a 26 inch waist.  Here women of all ages and sizes are strutting their stuff without a care in the world.  Don’t get me wrong here, there were some really fit people at the beach, yet they were all natural, no visible boob jobs or fake tans on this beach.  But there were others that were saying “go ahead world look at my cellulite I am a women and we all have it”.  This extra bulge hanging from my belly…let me see you give birth to 4 kids and not get surgery to fix it.  Women here are real and it’s beautiful.  To be quite honest at first sight I was “what the fu*&%…what are these women thinking” but that was just my California preprogramming taking over.  As I walked around the beach and as I started to feel more comfortable in my 6 month pregnant body I started to see how beautiful these women really are and the beauty goes beyond physical imagery.

Airplain windowAhhhh.  Oh how I would love to have the Star Trek “beam me up Scotti” technology.  Being in a commercial plain in a small crappy ass seat is definitely the least favorite part of traveling.  I feel all confined to the damn 2×3 foot space and I’m petite, I can see how some of you 6 footers are willing to pay more for prim real estate of 2 more feet of space on this metal bird.  But I guess you can not have the good without the bad.  Our only other choose is to have our own plain.  One day…one day soon.  Ahhhhhhhhhhh

heart 150x150 I Too Left My Heart in San Francisco.I’m going to miss you San Fran. I remember the first time I meet you, it was magical. Matt had driven down from Sacramento and I flew up from San Diego just to see you. We wanted to see you in all your spleanded glory with your tall buildings, your curvy streets, and your colorful people. We wanted to go out with you in the day, we wanted to go out with you in the rain, we want to go out in your cold foggy nights. We wanted to know all about you and know every wounder that you could share with us before we became your permanent resident for what would end up being 2 1/2 wounderful years. You where so majestic, despite your weathering facades and your amazing history you where so new and fresh to us. I remember that it was cloudy and raininy and I loved it all. Ever since that first encounter you have been so kind to me you have embraced me, protected me, you took me around and gave me a fantastic job, and you introduced me to people that I know will be in my life for many many years to come, you made me feel like as one of your own. Its been 2 1/2 years since you took me under you wing and I am so greatful for your warmth and all the experiances I have gained. My fairwell is a bitter sweet event beacuse I leave with great memories of great dinners with Matt at all your trendy and some not so trendy but fabulous none the less resturants, nights out with the girls my L’BEL sisters at Harry’s Bar, Americano, and of course the best night ever at the SupperClub jumping on the beds like a true 5 year old.Thank you San Francisco for your love and warmth despite having had experianced “the coldest winter I have ever had was a summer in San Francisco”.

I will not say good-by just until we meet again, because I too have left my heart in San Francisco.

What the hell was I thinking…I don’t like apples…so why would I think that I would like the Apple State. It’s true what they say…the apple does not fall from the tree. In the case of Washington they don’t even roll away.

My arrival to apple country was on July 3rd on this year and it was a refreshing welcome in comparison to Oregon…but I will not even go there…Oregon is a blog entry to it self, talk about time warp…weird.  But back to Washington, its beautiful full of trees, clean air, a real gem if you like that and only that about a place.  Unfortunately you have to deal with the people that live here though…not as gem like as they make you believe…they are really not nice.  I don’t know maybe its my Southern California up bringing and that is my bases for comparison, you know of friendly people that say hi to strangers and just want the world to be their friends…here in appleville…not so. It’s like I am in the town of Stamford…not Redmond and not only the women are robots but so are the men…controlled by their children.  Kids here are the only ones that have fun, they play to wee hours in the night have their rides scattered all over the parking lot and I can see them just telling their emotionless parents what they want and where they want to go…a three year old has more power then a 30 year old here.  They also move sooooooo slow, today for example I went to pick up Matt at his work and a man was driving at 30 miles an hour…on the highway…get the hell off…take the damn streets.  The bad thing is that they are taking the streets as well…it takes them 5 min to get out of the freaking parking lot.  Oh and don’t think that they are old folks…no…thirty something’s at times even twenty something’s are behind the wheel.  But if you try to get in front of them that is when they speed up, they even have signs that read “report aggressive drivers” and its a picture of a car margining in between two cars in traffic…the really have egos the size of their head or bigger…because only self-centered over righteous goons act that way…”I am so special that I take my time and make you wait, oh…but what you want to go ahead of me…oh no you can’t…I work of Microsoft…you need to wait and go after me”.  And then there is the stare down…as they roll by in front of you at 2 miles an hour as you are trying to get out of the parking lot…its like “look at me making you wait and if you make a move or a single facial expression I will go even slower…so cool it”.  So hence to say… I do not like apple pie.  And most importantly…we are out of here…see you back in sunny California :)

On a recent trip to Miami I flew America Airlines (AA) from San Diego with a lay-over in Dallas, TX and now I remember why I got the reaction of “OH NO American Airlines” when my companies Office Manager booked my flight four days earlier.

I started out in San Diego and I checked in at around 9:30am for an 11:50am flight when I got my boarding pass a seat had not yet been assigned and instructed me to proceed to the gate for a seat assignment.  I was the second in line and I waited for about 45 minutes before someone came to the counter and just took our names and said that they would call us as the seats where assigned.  Will it was 11:40am and passengers where already starting to board and I still did not have a seat.  How rare AA never over sales their flights.  While I finally got a seat the last one literally the one in the last row right next to the bathrooms without a declinable seat…at least this flight the A/C was working and no bathroom fumes escaped.

Although Dallas to Miami was a whole different stinky ride.  We actually boarded on time, woohoo… but just so that we can sit on the plain for over 40 minutes with no A/C and no ventilation…the plain had no power.  What the… and you want us to ride in the belly of this steal Icarus to our deaths? I thought it was illegal to keep passengers hostage on a plain without A/C and ventilation. I’m now in my 2nd trimester of my pregnancy and at no time during my 1st trimester did I feel nauseous.  But on Sunday I almost lost my cookies all thanks to AA.  This was the smelliest 40 minutes of my life, you see why I said “oh my god, not AA”.  They should take the name America off the plain, because I have flown other airlines from third world countries that are far superior then AA, and bearing the name American is a lack of respect, patriotism, and just plain wrong.

It’s sad to say that a British airline gives better homage to the word America by putting it after the word Virgin.
