On a recent trip to Miami I flew America Airlines (AA) from San Diego with a lay-over in Dallas, TX and now I remember why I got the reaction of “OH NO American Airlines” when my companies Office Manager booked my flight four days earlier.
I started out in San Diego and I checked in at around 9:30am for an 11:50am flight when I got my boarding pass a seat had not yet been assigned and instructed me to proceed to the gate for a seat assignment. I was the second in line and I waited for about 45 minutes before someone came to the counter and just took our names and said that they would call us as the seats where assigned. Will it was 11:40am and passengers where already starting to board and I still did not have a seat. How rare AA never over sales their flights. While I finally got a seat the last one literally the one in the last row right next to the bathrooms without a declinable seat…at least this flight the A/C was working and no bathroom fumes escaped.
Although Dallas to Miami was a whole different stinky ride. We actually boarded on time, woohoo… but just so that we can sit on the plain for over 40 minutes with no A/C and no ventilation…the plain had no power. What the… and you want us to ride in the belly of this steal Icarus to our deaths? I thought it was illegal to keep passengers hostage on a plain without A/C and ventilation. I’m now in my 2nd trimester of my pregnancy and at no time during my 1st trimester did I feel nauseous. But on Sunday I almost lost my cookies all thanks to AA. This was the smelliest 40 minutes of my life, you see why I said “oh my god, not AA”. They should take the name America off the plain, because I have flown other airlines from third world countries that are far superior then AA, and bearing the name American is a lack of respect, patriotism, and just plain wrong.
It’s sad to say that a British airline gives better homage to the word America by putting it after the word Virgin.
